Fees and policies

Practice fees and financial policies

Sattva Psychiatry was designed as a private-pay, out-of-network practice. The information below remains available for reference while new-patient scheduling is paused.

When care is active, patients pay the practice directly, and reimbursement from an insurance plan is not guaranteed.

New-patient scheduling is currently paused. The practice is not accepting new evaluation requests or maintaining a waiting list.

Insurance reimbursement

How out-of-network reimbursement may work

When treatment is active, patients pay the full practice fee at the time of service. A superbill may then be provided for submission to an insurance plan.

Some plans reimburse part of out-of-network psychiatric treatment after the deductible has been met. Coverage depends on the plan’s allowed amount, deductible, coinsurance, exclusions, and claim requirements.

A superbill documents services for a possible insurance claim. It does not guarantee that a claim will be accepted, applied to a deductible, or reimbursed.

Practice policies

Financial and administrative policies

These policies describe the intended practice structure. Complete terms and required acknowledgments would be provided before care begins.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. An approved payment method may be required before an appointment is confirmed.

Cancellations and missed visits

Late cancellations and missed appointments may be charged according to the written cancellation policy provided before treatment.

Insurance claims

Patients are responsible for submitting claims and communicating with their insurance plan about coverage, denials, reimbursement, or appeals.

Superbills

Superbills may be provided when clinically and administratively appropriate. They do not guarantee insurance reimbursement.

Records and forms

Routine clinical documentation is included in treatment. Separate records, letters, forms, or administrative work may be limited, declined, or subject to a separate fee when applicable.

Treatment frequency

Appointment frequency is determined clinically. Psychotherapy generally requires more consistent recurring appointments than medication management.

Cost estimates

Good Faith Estimates

Patients who do not use insurance may have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for scheduled services.

The total cost of treatment depends on the type and frequency of appointments. A Good Faith Estimate is an estimate rather than a guarantee that the treatment plan or total number of visits will remain unchanged.

General administrative questions may be sent to contact@sattvamd.com . Ordinary email should not include sensitive clinical information.
