Fees & policies

Private psychiatry fees and payment information.

Sattva Psychiatry is a private, cash-pay and out-of-network telepsychiatry practice for adults in New York, Washington, DC, and Virginia.

Fees are listed before scheduling so patients can decide whether the model fits before beginning treatment. Payment is due at the time of service. Sattva Psychiatry does not bill insurance directly. Superbills may be provided for patients who wish to submit claims for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Planning ahead

What reimbursement could change per visit.

Patients pay the full fee at the time of service. Some patients with out-of-network benefits may later receive partial reimbursement from their insurance plan.

Illustrative per-visit cost examples
Visit type Paid at visit 50% example 80% example
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation $425 $212.50 $85
Follow-up psychiatric treatment $275 $137.50 $55
Extended follow-up visit $375 $187.50 $75

These examples are for illustration only. Reimbursement is determined by the patient’s insurance plan and may be lower, unavailable, subject to deductible, or based on an allowed amount that differs from the practice fee.

Many patients need closer follow-up early in treatment while symptoms, medication response, and side effects are being monitored. As symptoms stabilize and the medication plan becomes clearer, follow-up visits are often spaced farther apart. Some stable patients are seen about every three months.

What the fee supports

The clinical work behind the visit.

The fee supports time for psychiatric evaluation, medication strategy, documentation, treatment planning, and revision of the plan as new information emerges.

The appointment is only one part of psychiatric treatment.

Clinical work may include preparation when indicated, review of relevant history, medication decision-making, symptom tracking, side-effect review, safety assessment, and treatment planning.

For an initial psychiatric evaluation, the fee supports diagnostic assessment, review of symptoms and relevant history, formulation of the treatment target, medication discussion when appropriate, and a plan for next steps.

For follow-up psychiatric treatment, the fee supports review of treatment response, side effects, adherence, symptom course, safety concerns, medication adjustments, and revision of the plan as needed.

Superbills & reimbursement

Out-of-network reimbursement may be possible for some patients.

Sattva Psychiatry does not bill insurance directly. Patients with PPO or out-of-network benefits may submit superbills to their insurance plan for possible reimbursement.

Understanding possible reimbursement

A superbill is a detailed receipt that may include diagnosis codes, service codes, fees paid, and provider information. Patients may submit this documentation to their insurance plan if they want to request out-of-network reimbursement.

Some plans reimburse a portion of out-of-network psychiatric treatment after the deductible is met. Reimbursement depends on the patient’s benefits, deductible, allowed amount, claim processing, and coverage rules.

Patients may also submit a benefits verification request through Reimbursify to estimate whether their plan may include out-of-network benefits for psychiatric treatment.

Superbills and cost examples are not a promise of reimbursement. Actual reimbursement may be lower, unavailable, subject to deductible, or based on the insurer’s allowed amount rather than the full fee. Final coverage decisions, allowed amounts, deductible application, claim approval, denials, and payment amounts are determined by the insurance plan. Sattva Psychiatry does not bill insurance directly or manage claims, denials, appeals, or insurer communications.
