Services

Psychiatric treatment options.

Evaluation, medication management, and second-opinion consultation for adults seeking diagnostic clarity and individualized treatment planning.

Sattva Psychiatry provides cash-pay, out-of-network telepsychiatry for adults physically located in New York, Washington, DC, or Virginia at the time of each appointment.

Service structure

How the service options work.

New patients typically begin with a comprehensive evaluation. Follow-up medication management is available for established patients when ongoing treatment is appropriate.

A second-opinion consultation is available for patients seeking a one-time independent psychiatric review of diagnosis, medication history, treatment response, side effects, or treatment direction.

Initial visit

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation

$375
60 minutes
Required first step for most new patients

The comprehensive evaluation is the first step for new patients seeking ongoing psychiatric treatment. The visit reviews current symptoms, psychiatric history, medical history, medications, prior treatment response, safety considerations, and goals.

The aim is to clarify diagnosis, understand what may be contributing to current symptoms, and determine whether ongoing treatment through Sattva Psychiatry is clinically appropriate.

This visit may include:

  • Review of current concerns and how symptoms have developed
  • Diagnostic assessment and differential diagnosis
  • Medication history, prior response, side effects, and tolerability
  • Review of relevant medical, sleep, substance use, stress, and functioning factors
  • Discussion of medication options when clinically appropriate
  • Assessment of fit for ongoing outpatient telepsychiatry

The initial evaluation does not guarantee that ongoing treatment will be recommended or established. In some cases, a different clinician, service, or level of treatment may be more appropriate.

Established patients

Medication Management

$275
20 minutes
For established patients

Medication management visits are focused follow-up appointments for established patients. These visits review symptom change, medication response, side effects, functioning, safety, and whether the treatment plan still fits.

When patients are stable, follow-up may be brief and focused. When symptoms change, side effects emerge, or treatment questions become more complex, the visit may identify the need for a medication adjustment, further evaluation, or a different treatment setting.

Follow-up visits may include:

  • Medication response and side-effect review
  • Assessment of mood, anxiety, sleep, attention, functioning, and safety
  • Medication adjustments when clinically appropriate
  • Review of adherence, tolerability, and practical barriers
  • Discussion of next steps and follow-up timing

Follow-up frequency is individualized based on clinical need, medication changes, stability, and fit for outpatient telepsychiatry.

Focused consultation

Second Opinion Consultation

$795
90 minutes
One-time consultation

A second-opinion consultation is a one-time psychiatric consultation for adults who want an independent review of diagnosis, medication history, side effects, treatment response, or treatment direction.

This consultation may be useful when symptoms feel difficult to understand, several medication trials have not helped enough, side effects are hard to interpret, or the current treatment plan feels unclear.

A second opinion may be useful for:

  • Diagnostic uncertainty or overlapping symptoms
  • Partial response to medication
  • Medication side effects or tolerability concerns
  • Review of prior medication trials
  • Questions about whether medication is indicated
  • Review before starting, stopping, or changing psychiatric medication

A second-opinion consultation is a one-time consultation and does not establish ongoing treatment unless both patient and physician separately agree that ongoing treatment is appropriate.
